This study examined the relation of self-efficacy to treatment outcomes in two distinct types of therapeutic treatment. Self-efficacy was studied in 2 samples of youth treated with either Podd-Sorensen group therapy or an individual, family therapy. Group therapy results were better than those obtained with the individual treatment. The two treatment groups differed in both the treatment modality and their level of treatment experience. Three self-efficacy variables were examined: (1) confidence in ability to work together effectively, (2) belief that treatment will work, and (3) belief that treatment will be effective. Results indicated that the three self-efficacy variables showed a strong association with treatment outcome and a weaker association with a predisposition to look for the positive effect. The results are discussed in terms of implications for the design of treatment programs.Computer decoys, i.e. computer models of live birds or other animals, may be used to study, for example, bird migration, bird habitat selection, bird behavioral and physiological responses to food shortages, and bird migration routes. A computer decoy creates a bird simulation and typically uses some sort of physics engine to affect the bird simulation, such as movement and body weight. These simulations allow birds to be rendered using graphics technology, allowing a user of the decoy to observe how the bird would appear in reality. A realistic bird simulation enables the user to measure, for example, bird crowding, bird feeding patterns, and bird flight responses, for example, to flight behavior, and evaluate the validity of observations.?
